Fangda Group's Northern Heavy Industries has again demonstrated its core competitiveness by undertaking the largest-scale spreader machine project in China

Since completing its mixed-ownership reform in 2019, Northern Heavy Industries has anchored its development direction in "high-end, intelligent, and green" initiatives, strengthening its foundation through innovation in core businesses and continuously expanding into strategic emerging sectors.

In 2025, Northern Heavy Industries intensified its focus on the open-pit mining equipment sector, deeply integrating global innovation resources. By collaborating with top domestic and international research teams and benchmark mining enterprises, the company built a synergistic innovation ecosystem that combines industry, academia, research, and application. This effort recently culminated in securing multiple orders for large spreaders, marking the company's official entry into the open-pit mining equipment field and launching a new journey to expand its footprint in high-end mining equipment.

On January 16, 2026, representatives from the project owner, the general contractor, and several partner companies of China's largest spreader project gathered at Northern Heavy Industries for a design liaison meeting. The meeting focused on in-depth discussions regarding technical details of the equipment and production delivery processes, laying a collaborative foundation for the project's efficient advancement and highlighting Northern Heavy Industries' leadership in the large-scale mining equipment sector. The design plan disclosed by Northern Heavy Industries at the meeting garnered significant attention from all parties. As an "efficiency giant" for open-pit mines, this spreader boasts a rated production capacity of 9,000 t/h, with a maximum capacity exceeding 10,000 t/h, filling a gap in domestic equipment of its kind. Equipped with an independently developed intelligent control system and technology resistant to harsh working conditions, the machine can adapt to heavy loads, extreme temperatures, and dusty environments, achieving a balance between high efficiency and environmental sustainability, aligning with the company's reform strategy of "innovation-driven, technology-led" development.

This technological confidence stems from Northern Heavy Industries' extensive overseas experience. The company's self-developed large overseas spreader has redefined efficiency benchmarks with a discharge capacity of 7,000 tons per hour, and its 125-meter full rotation discharge radius reaches internationally leading levels, significantly reducing the need for equipment relocation. The unique self-balancing relocation and self-moving functions allow the machine to transfer autonomously without the need for large auxiliary equipment, solving a long-standing industry challenge. The unit cost of waste dumping is only 1/3 to 1/2 of that of traditional truck transportation.. This equipment has broken foreign monopolies, driving technological upgrades across the entire industry chain and showcasing the company's robust R&D capabilities.
